Best known as a Top 12 Finalist on Season 7 of American Idol, David Hernandez has released his debut EP entitled "I Am Who I Am.” Originally started in 2009, the EP evolved into a personal story of David's that takes you on a journey through love, heartbreak, and self-discovery. The title track "I Am Who I Am" was written before his Idol experience, and talks about a young boy raised by a single mother who struggled to make ends meet. All the while, his passion for singing grew and took him places beyond the obstacles that could have held him back.

"I think there is a song on this EP for everyone, no matter what you have been through, or what you are going through. I try to write about things that I know people can relate to. I think love is a common thread we all share, so there is definitely some of that on this record,” says Hernandez.

Having penned all but one song on this powerful debut, it is an EP worthy of being placed on repeat. With ballads that vocally soar and mid-tempo's that stir the heart, to up tempos that make you move, "I Am Who I Am" is a special compilation of David's best work to date.
