Clarinet Passions is the title of a new CD released by Sea Change Records Ltd. which features David Hopkins on clarinet with a line up of jazz veterans. Don Friedman is on piano, Ron McClure on bass, Ben Perowsky on drums, and Frank Perowsky on tenor sax.
In addition to several solo albums, pianist Don Friedman has recorded and played with a veritable WHO'S WHO of the jazz community. His earlly work was with Philly Joe Jones, Chet Baker and Buddy DeFranco to name a few. He presently plays and records regularly with both Clark Terry and Lee Konitz. For the past 4 years he has played Monday nights with Hopkins' trio at Le Marais Restaurant in the heart of New York's theater district.
Ron McClure bassist, is another jazz veteran, he has 15 CD's out as a leader and has toured and recorded with Maynard Fergusson, Charles Lloyd, Wynton Kelly, Dave Liebman, Quest, Joe Henderson, the Pointer Sisters and Blood, Sweat and Tears.
Ben Perowsky plays regularly with Mike Stern, Bob Berg, and Ronnie Cuber. He is presently recording with Dave Doulgas on the BMG label. Ben has also played with Dave Liebman and James Moody, in addition his fusion group Lost Tribe has 3 CD's in the stores
Frank Perowsky has toured with Woody Herman, Johnny Richards, Tito Rodriquez, and Bill Watrous. He has played in concert with Peggy Lee, Billy Eckstein, Sarah Vaughn, Liza Minelli and has recently recorded with Freddie Cole. Roland Hanna, Buddy .
