Album Notes

This is the jazz half of the debut 2-CD set from the New York Philharmonic bassist David J. Grossman, who was the orchestra's youngest member when he joined in May 2000. The other, Classical half of this 2-CD set is also available from CD Baby.

David J. Grossman has performed with Wynton Marsalis, Lew Tabackin, Toshiko Akiyoshi, Richard Stoltzman and recorded with David Morgan and Loston Harris. As a member of the Marcus Roberts Trio, David played on the 1996 Columbia recording "Time & Circumstance," which was listed in the "best top ten jazz CDs of the year" in both Time Magazine and The New York Times.

In addition to playing jazz, David continues to play with the New York Philharmonic--which he joined as its youngest member in December 1999--before graduating from the Juilliard School in May 2000.
