Album Notes

David Kav has been singing for as long as he can remember. Watching his aunt play guitar as a kid (who learned from his father...whom David has never met,) he was intrigued by the seemingly intimidating instrument. Well, of course, as fate would have it, David would follow his (what once seemed like an) infatuation for music by listening to his mother's record collection of Journey, Boston, Neil Young, Chicago records which led to very basic piano lessons which led to clarinet (whahuh?) lessons. David was first chair until 7th grade.

Once David found out that he'd have to keep playing the "licorice stick" in order to learn something cool, like, the saxophone, he immediately dropped that and wouldn't pick up another instrument until he was given an acoustic guitar in 8th grade as a graduation present. Little did the family know that the guitar would be a permanent fixture in his life (just like his father before him, apparently. Genes, huh?)

This led to talent showcases, two rock bands (Comatose and All Things Considered,) a side project (Kampus Project,) and "a partridge in a pear tree" (aka David's debut CD "Look Into My Eyes" - just released last year in 2007.) His forthcoming CD will be out later this year (hopefully.)

David is grateful to Uncommon Ground, to Kat and to the Shure Open Mics for helping him get his feet "in the door" at this prestigious venue.

See you at the show!

Peace, love and music!
David Kav

After hearing him perform last night I haven't been able to not listen to his cd. His passion and love of music came right through on it. The cd packed with great lyrics (his own), amazing guitar, and outsanding vocals. This is truly a great cd, and I'm impressed. I don't think that it can really be classified in a specific genre. Its really versatile and many people can enjoy it. I abolutely love it. great job!
