Album Notes

David Penna is a New York-based electronica composer, producer and musician.

With influences such as Squarepusher, Aphex Twin, Photek, Autechre, BT and Bjork, Penna combines jazz, classical and other progressive elements with techno, drum & bass, idm and other electronic forms, to create a totally unique, deep and diverse style.

His debut album "failure to obey a traffic control device", which recently received a rave review in Keyboard Magazine, offers 8 tracks ranging from meditative ambience to breakneck-speed breakbeats and everything inbetween.

David plans to begin live performances in early 2008, in both solo and group formats, to promote the release of the album.

With over 20 years experience as a professional drummer, David has performed and recorded with many world-renowned artists, including Ronnie Spector, Dave Revels (The Coasters), Felix Cavaliere (The Rascals), Ron Jarzombek (Watchtower, Spastic Ink), Planet Hate, and most recently, Static and Ad Astra. He's appeared on Late Night with Conan O'Brien, and his music has been included in soundtracks for The Real World and several motion pictures. He has also contributed factory patterns to several Korg electronic musical instruments.
