Album Notes

"David's music floats in the window, tender & strong as his heart, calling you to come on out, to listen. You will hear a groove smooth & easy as walking down the street, with touches of Spanish, & many questions, & music from all over the place, all coming through the guitar & voice & soul of this fine young singer. I'm telling you, he's a good one!" - Greg Brown, Red House Records

"There is a diamond in his throat."
- Stuart Davis, Post Apocalyptic Records

Snug between his parents and their soft voices in the warm glow of home, David Rogers found a love for music and singing. Years later, at thirteen and amidst the early 90's alternative music wave, David first strummed the strings of an acoustic guitar. With no formal musical instruction, he spent his adolescence weaving melodies with his friends and developing a sense for songwriting. It was within his hometown of Iowa City that he eventually discovered an accessibility to real and honest music through local grass-roots artists like Greg Brown, Dave Moore, Bo Ramsey, and David Zollo.

Inspired by his upbringing and musical hometown, David writes bits of Iowa into his songs, as well as a longing for places beyond. His debut album, "where songs collide" is the first release for the independent label Mullins Records - available June 2003.

I love this CD. This CD holds the greatest music ever written, but that's my opinion. I love listening to it when I get home after play practice. It's always playing when I'm in my room, and when talking to friends online.
