Album Notes

I made this album six years ago. I think it's a lot better than what I usually hear on the radio. In fact, I think this is one of the best albums you've never heard. In fact, I think it's one of the GREAT LOST CLASSIC ALBUMS OF ALL TIME! This album is a friggin' masterpiece, like a VAN GOGH PAINTING! And just like Van Gogh while he was alive, NO ONE CARES! NOT THE RADIO! NOT THE PRESS!! NOT THE RECORD COMPANIES!! NO ONE!!! In fact, I'm gonna CUT OFF MY EAR! Yeah. That'll show them. AAAAAHHH! OUCH! OWEE!

An amazing recording. Mr. Russell sounds like he's channeling Leonard Cohen, Hank Williams Sr., Leon Redbone, and various crooners guest hosting a offshoot of Sesame Street that takes place in the back alleys of children's daytime television. Half Romanesque and half sunny side up, one need only wonder what this playwright/songwriter has in store for us next. Oh, and one more thing; the musicians backing D.R. are the closest thing to too slick. Check it out and tell Mr. Russell he's the man, because he is.

This disc is strangely good. I love how the songs flow with eachother and still doesn't confine itself to a genre. Everything from westerns and novelty to well-crafted songs. I would love to see this live!
