Nominated for “Recording of the Year” by the Northwest Area Music Association (NAMA), “Promise” has been one of the top selling solo piano albums of all time. The New Yorker Magazine calls him “One of the most accomplished and original new talents to hit the keyboards… thoroughly enjoyable.” “Promise” is a collection of passionate, romantic piano solos beautifully recorded on the world famous 9 foot Bosendorfer concert grand piano.

To date, Mr. Templeton has released 5 instrumental albums ranging from intimate peaceful solo piano compositions (The Deepest Water) to full symphony works (“Snow On Saint James” / The Crossing). “Promise” is a very dramatic and passion filled recording reminiscent of Rachmaninoff or Mendelssohn. The listener will find herself carried away to a world of island retreats on white sand beaches to romantic afternoons in a secret field of daisies to childhood memories of picking strawberries on endless warm summer days.

The CD also comes with a 12 page color booklet containing stories that accompany each of the songs written by the composer, so as you listen to the album, you can read along and find yourself immersed in a world of adventure. Here is a story excerpt from the song “Vashon”: “On a warm summer afternoon, I sailed to a white sand beach where sand dollars were the size of butter plates and tide pools of fresh water warmed my bare feet”.

David Templeton is one of those rare individuals who not only has the passion, experience and understanding of life needed to compose such beautiful compositions as found on “Promise”, but also the skill and training of a discerning sound engineer who is able to capture every nuance of his performance on the grand piano.

Graduating form the University of Washington with a double major in Commercial Music Production and Communications, David Templeton has what it takes to produce and perform award winning music. He writes and records his compositions at home in his music studio which overlooks the inspiring ocean beaches of Puget Sound in Washington State.
