Album Notes

Debra Davis is a compelling artist who writes hook-filled songs that hit deep.
Many songs from her CDs have been heard on TV and in film,
and have attracted a big national following of fans who call themselves "debheads."

Debra's new CD, "Complete (GCG)," is packed with her most
powerful material yet, and will be in stores nationwide August 24.
"These songs came from the sadness of goodbye and the awe of new life," says Debra. "In the course of a couple years I was dealing with loss of loved ones, and then the birth of my daughter Ella. So this album deals with the circle of life and all the feelings therein."

The first single, "Born to Love You," features a duet with 5-time Grammy winner Christopher Cross. The song "Hiding Place (Da Vinci Code)" is a musical turn on the best-selling novel The Da Vinci Code. "Supernatural High" is featured on the "Dawson's Creek" Season 2 DVD, and also on a SonyWonder CD single accompanying the best-selling kids' book series "Avalon: Web of Magic."

Debra's songs "Angels in the Attic" and "The Way Things Used to Be" are selected tracks on the Dawson's Creek Make Your Own CD at www.dawsonscreekcds.com.

To name a few, her tunes have been heard on "Dawson's Creek (WB)" "Any Day Now" (Lifetime), "The Bold & The Beautiful (CBS)," "Grapevine" (NBC), "Undressed" (MTV), "The Smokers" (HBO and video), "Implicated" (HBO and Cinemax), and the film "All You Need," now airing on Lifetime TV.

Debra's song, "Takin' the Wheel," is on the new CD by Rounder Records group "Malibu Storm," whose CD will be in stores in August.

Her music is on retail store audio systems nationwide, and is featured on "Real Artists Working" (PBS affiliates). Debra's songs are on CDs for good causes, like "It's About Eve" for breast cancer research and "Home" for Children International. She is a founder of the Music Heals organization.

Debra and her band of gold have toured the country, building a big following of loyal fans(which includes lots of kids!) , doing TV, radio, clubs and in-store performances.

Good bench of music

I'd been introduced to Debra Davis' music several years ago at a live music store gig and got the Uninvited Guests CD then. When I found her again here on CDBaby, I just had to scoop her latest stuff up -- and bought second copies for gifts because I could tell from the music samples that it'd be just as great as the original CD I had -- and yes, I've since received it and it's one of my heavy-rotation CDs. Do give the samples a shot to see if she's for you, too.

This is one of those CDs that you will keep going back to.

Every song on this CD will knock you out with clarity, honesty, and sincerity. Debra has done it this time. Two tracks that stand out for me, I'm Not Broken (a hook that will hit for sure) and How Deep It Goes (Debra has broken down her vocal boundaries on this one). Nick Kirgo’s guitar work on this CD is brilliant, just the right touch in all the right places. Yes, it is kinda’ sensual. The bass performances are flawless and the bass sounds are smooth, round, and phat without being overbearing. Dave Beyer’s drums and percussion tie the songs together with simplistic, impeccable taste. Dave’s creative production shows that he has what it takes to lay down the tracks and piece them together to help make this CD Debra’s best. All of the musician’s that play a part in this project’s overall beauty have joined with Debra to make this CD a COMPLETE hit!
