Album Notes

It all started on the playgrounds of Davis Elementary School in St. Charles, IL - long before Pat Collins and Cody Clausen ever picked up a guitar. It was the shared love of baseball that formed the basis of their friendship. They went on to high school with the plans of going pro. Unfortunately, friends and family presented the harsh fact that they were never going to make it to the majors; in fact, they discouraged them from ever touching a baseball again…

With their MLB dreams behind them, they pursued music as their main focus. During their time in high school, they experienced relationships that eventually fueled the material for their debut album. Before Davis Bridge was formed, Clausen and Collins were involved in various music opportunities that helped form their knowledge of music and what it means to play in a band. Clausen was in a band called The Knuckles moose and Collins was involved in various musical avenues. However, they both found themselves contributing their talents to the church.

They finally came together and started collaborating at the end of their senior year. Freshman year in college was the start of original material. They recorded their first song called “All You Need” and many cover songs on an 8 track at the Collins’ house. These songs, although recorded on mediocre equipment, gained instant popularity among their friends. It didn’t take long for fellow graduate and drummer Pete Steele to hear these hot new tracks. He was very persistent on the addition of percussion…

Aside from adding drums to the new sound, Steele brought experience in the local music scene. He has played with many bands and has organized many live shows. Within a couple of months after forming the band, they played their first few shows with tremendous success. Next thing they knew, they were in the studio recording a full-band and full-length album titled “Searching For You.”
