Album Notes

The Davis Brothers Album is the real deal, combining rich harmonies, unique vocal and musical arrangements, and melodic original compositions in an album recorded, arranged, mixed and produced by The Davis Brothers. And yes, Kyley, Brock, Ryan and Justin are actually brothers (no hand-picked boy band here!). Inspired by such artists as the Beach Boys, The Beatles, Frank Sinatra and Andy Williams, and with a background rooted in the church and a family tree rich in musical talent, the brothers began singing and performing while still in elementary school. Encouraged by their parents, the brothers began performing in local churches, entertained at school events, competed in and won numerous talent shows, and all before the oldest brother was even 12 years old.
The brothers recorded and released 3 albums during that time. Though they were young, their ability to harmonize and learn complicated movements with relative ease amazed seasoned musicians and audiences alike, and those early albums have stood the test of time. The brothers continued to sing as they grew into young men, though school and demanding schedules forced them to cut back their traveling and live performances. For a while, the brothers took a break from performing and decided to focus more on writing, producing and arranging.
Their new album, The Davis Brothers Album, is a giant leap for the boys in terms of their writing and studio skills, and it’s clear evidence that their time away from the studio was time well spent. Just a few songs into this album, it becomes apparent to the listener that the brothers are not bound to one particular style, and the project as a whole benefits from their eclectic tastes since the ear and soul is engaged by a wide array of music and sound. The harmonies and vocal arrangements that permeate each track are the constant that tie it all together, and the project flows as a result of their efforts. Thanks so much for your interest in the Davis Brothers and The Davis Brothers Album. Please enjoy!

how 'bout an," American Idol" for groups of 2 or more!

It's impossible to not be biased about this group.(I 'm their uncle). Of course I liked this CD. But, I will try to be a bit of a critic. I can't help but wonder how OFF-THE-CHAIN this would be with a full band or orchestra with all real instruments. The songs that did feature guitar, drums, etc.. instead of the syntesizer sounded better to me. One or two of the songs didn't seem to fit the overall sound that the majority of the album conveyed. My favorite song on the album is This same power. Still, considering where this was recorded, the budget, and logistics, etc.. it's an enormous accomplishment. I would love to see each individual brother compete against one another on, "American idol", without anyone knowing until it came down to them in the final 4. That would blow some minds.

I've listened to the Davis Brothers CD several times now and I enjoy it more each time I listen. As song writers, arrangers, musicians, singers, recording engineers and more, this CD can and should be appreciated on many different levels. Thanks for the great music! What's next?
