DA VOLUNTEERS: Gunz and Rozes
Biography

Stomping in the game in 2002 with their debut album, "Da Game", the Orange Mound duo, Da Volunteers, continue to blossom as artists. Now signed with 8ball and M.J.G., they are the hottest group in Memphis, TN and one of the most promising pairings in hip-hop.

After the release of "Da Game," Da Volunteers (J.Rock and Noon) sharpened their verbal skills by writing and practically living in the studio. Their determination and drive for perfection produced their sophomore album, "Gunz and Rozes", released in July 2004, independent in over 20 states and distributed by Selecto-hits. To date, over 50,000 copies of both albums, "Da Game" and "Gunz and Rozes" have been sold.

Also in July 2004, Da Volunteers shot their video to the hit single, "House and Home of Twankies (Remix)". The video is a part of the d.v.d. compilation, RapTv.Com. "House and Home of Twankies (Remix)", on the Gunz and Rozes album, was aired on Memphis, TN hottest underground tv show, UGTV, and rated #1 on 1600 am. In the Murder Dog magazine, "Gunz and Rozes" received 4 out of 5 mics and in the Streetmasters magazine, it ranked 13 out 16 songs as hits.

"So what is the underlying theme of Gunz and Rozes?" The gunz are for the fellows and the rozes are for the ladies. Songs like "We Da Truth" and "Whatcha Watchin Me 4," are the gunz. While, songs like "Jackie Chan" and "House and Home of Twankies (Remix)" are the rozes.

The Volunteers has truly made a difference in the rap game and dented the industry with this sophomore album release. Currently working on their mixtape, Da Bandwagon, and producing their own tracks, new singles underway are Strawberry 22's and G-Walk. With continued success, and teaming up 8-ball and M.J.G. ((8 Ways Entertainment / M.J.G. Muzik), they will soar high above the industry's standards and make an imprint that is infinite.
