Album Notes

Dawn Jewell is a vocalist, instrumentalist, and songwriter and has performed with a variety of musicians in Seattle. Her self produced debut release "Engineer Number Five" was released in 2001. The songs have been called powerful, haunting, and introspective and include Dawn on vocals, harmonies, acoustic & electric guitar, and melodica.

A number of fine musicians and engineers contributed on this recording. Among them are Steve Schneider on lead guitar, hammond organ, and jaw harp; bassist Brad Houser of Seattle band Critter's Buggin'; cellist Nancy Wharton; drummer Andy Gregg; upright bassist Reuben Radding who has played with John Zorn and Marc Ribot; and Christopher MacRae on added guitar, e-bow, and samples.
