Album Notes

Share intimate moments with singer songwriter, Dawn Rose. Her twelve song debut touches on a variety of styles, from finger-picking folk to easy rockers, powerful ballads to a hint of jazz, with songs written throughout her twenty year career. The songs of love, loss, hope, family and the world give a glimpse into the heart of this artist. Recorded initially at Prairie Sun in Cotati, California, Dawn performed all the songs solo, accompanying herself either on acoustic guitar or grand piano. Later, producer John Beland of the "Flying Burrito Brothers" added his amazing touches on guitar, bass and keys.

Dawn was born in San Francisco and was raised in the Bay Area. She began singing and playing guitar at age seven, and played her first talent show at nine. She began studying classical piano and voice in junior high, and was performing in clubs at eighteen. She performed throughout the 80's in solo, duo, and band projects near her home town of La Honda. She moved north to the Napa Valley in the early nineties and has continued to perform locally while raising a family. In addition, Dawn has written for films, produced Christmas shows, teaches guitar and sings with local school children regularly.

"I love playing music and I love sharing it with others. I'm not content unless I have something going musically."

Currently Dawn performs as a solo act and in a duo called "Sweet Burgundy". She is planning her second release for 2005, this time with a full band.
