Album Notes

Jim's newest CD continues his popular "studio concerts" that are recorded live in-studio with a small audience. This is the third CD in the series. Here are his thoughts about that day and the concert from the liner notes . . . .

we had been to the statue of liberty that day.
we had gone to the place where the world trade center had stood.
we had walked for miles. stood in line for hours. it was brutally hot.
by the time we got to the studio, we were physically and emotionally exhausted.
we would do this to be polite for my visiting sister and her wonderful husband,
but certainly this would not be one of our better concerts.
we were also recording directly to cd, so we would have no chance later to 'fix' mistakes.
there would be no 'second takes'.
family and friends in place, we finally started.
perhaps because of our fatigue, perhaps because of the emotional toll we had paid that day,
we had no choice but to surrender.
so we did.

ah sweet surrender.

this is what i do.
this is who i am.
this is my life.

i remain profoundly grateful.
