TEXAS WORLD MUSIC CONCERTS PRESENT
DAWSON'S JAZZ
VIRTUOSO PIANO FROM TEXAS WITH JAZZ SOUL
"Dawson's diverse influences make his music a refreshing change" Chris Bell - Producer, NARAS Texas Chapter President
"In an era of synthetic disposable musical artists, Dawson is the real thing! His musical palette is wide and diverse. What makes his work so unique and distinct are the sophistication of his musical arrangements. This is a REAL musician, with very strong chops. If you are looking for REAL Music played by great players, check this CD out ASAP".
Ritch Esra - Music Business Registry
"Ready to bust out" - Dallas Morning News
Producer / performing artist DAWSON has released the CD
"Dawson's Jazz."
Depending on the venue size, Dawson's Jazz changes size between an intimate piano/percussion duo and a four-piece knockout. Texas based Dawson performs virtuoso piano and electric guitar. His musical explorations with classical piano, electronic, and jazz create songs that tell stories and celebrate simple pleasures of life. Dawson takes listeners south of the Texas border adding Latin jazz to the musical mix. Critics and audiences agree: Dawson jams with jazz soul.
As the visionary of the performance arts collective Texas World Music Concerts, Dawson's worked with engineer/producers Tye Robison (Eleanor Digs Me, The Nixons) and Chris Bell (U2, Polyphonic Spree). Television, radio, and film producers of the southwest have featured Dawson and he often works with Chicago saxophonist/composer Mitch Paliga and Texas trumpet legend Steve Howard. Others are producer Larry Spencer, composer Kim Corbet, and the saxophonist/composer Lee Schloss.
"Never forget the joy music gives us and recognize that the art of sound unites people of the earth." - DAWSON

Excellent cd for fans of piano jazz
author: Tyler Lizenby
Did you buy the Norah Jones cd's and have your interest in jazz piqued? Are you a fan of piano jazz in general? Well then give this cd a try. Dawson has crafted an excellent cd full of great piano jazz that will satisfy both the diehards and the newbies.
I'm espectially partial to the first track "So What". A standard with a greating floating piano line in it that builds and builds, only to come down with a re-iteration of that great line.
Other good tracks are "New Mexican" and "Going Home"
Overall, If you like piano jazz, you'll like this cd.
