Album Notes

"The sheer talent apparent in this band is bound to get them places...hints of jazz and the blues... [Gena] proves that Seattle isn't the only home of the Northwest indie. Strongly recommended." -Boston Globe

"plodding, studies in bummer relationships, loneliness and resignation" -Anchorage Daily News

"very soothing and kind of charming, [Gena's] nonchalant approach to the vocals matches up nicely with the mellow and chordy guitar parts" -Status Magazine

"Acoustic and undistorted electric guitars strum gentle chords while haunted chanteuse Gena Gastaldi blows her moody zephyr voice into the mic." -Willamette Week

REVIEWS

Nearly as skilled as they are sad.

The sheer talent apparent in this band is bound to get them places even if their melencholy tone does not. Both Gastaldi and Edge bring much more to the table than the subdued alternative or emo that is currently so popular in the indie scene. With hints of Jazz and the "New" blues they play off of each others strengths and cover up each others weaknesses surprisingly well. The dark spot on an otherwise stellar album is the subpar performance of Josh Bragg (of Revenge of Me). Although a strong vocalist in his own right, he does not have the subtlety to properly harmonize with the softer voice of Gastaldi. This album is a strong showing and proves that Seattle isn't the only home of the Northwest indie. Rating: Strongly Recommended.

Day Of Lions=Accoustic Bliss

As always Gena's voice is gorgeouse. Everything on this album flows together wonderfully. Nothing is overdone, too busy, too loud, or too soft. I would (and have*) highly recommend this album to others. Great to sing or play along with. I hate labeling artists, but if I had to-> this is accoustic emo, with the exception that it's GOOD accoustic emo.
