It's been seven years since Dayroom first appeared at the fabulous 40 Watt Club in Athens, GA. But unlike hundreds of other bands that have come and gone, Dayroom still remains a powerhouse within the independent music scene.
Known to many as the hardest working band in the South, Dayroom has performed 200+ dates a year for the past four years constantly pursuing their dream of taking their music on the road and to the people. This hard work ethic has developed them into one of the most popular A Circuit Bands in the country.
The band is no stranger to the music business as they have built their own record company, Global Head Records, from the ground up collectively selling over 9,000 copies of their 1995 debut Perpetual Smile and their 1996 release Contagious. With nearly 10,000 names on their mailing list and a priority to steadily build a strong following, Dayroom publishes the quarterly Noise Letter newsletter and maintains the fan based e-mail discussion group, Static.
Dayroom's extensive website, www.dayroom.com, has received more than 48,000 hits to date.
THE NEW CD: On Tuesday March 23rd, Dayroom released their third CD "Better Days". The band spent three months in Athens, GA in the fall of 1998 recording with noted producer, John Keane (R.E.M., Cowboy Junkies, Widespread Panic).
Keane recently remarked, "Dayroom's energetic grooves and no nonsense approach to song writing has been a breath of fresh air. They've worked very hard to create a unique sound that is both compelling and timeless. As a whole, the new CD expresses a more mature, dynamic and serious sound for the band, yet it still possesses Dayroom's distinctive sound."
Their sound, which can best be described as energetic and innovative rock & roll with pop sensibilities, is the essence which will push Dayroom into the spotlight on the national music scene.
The band is in the midst of an aggressive radio, press & distribution promotion in conjunction with an extensive tour throughout the US this Spring & Summer to promote BETTER DAYS. It's then on to Europe for a month BETTER DAYS in September.

This band never ceases to amaze me. From the early days of their career, I've been a fan, but this newest CD blows me away. Why hasn't someone signed them yet? What are you waiting for? Truly an inspired CD, Better Days is so professional, mature and catchy, I haven't found anyone yet who doesn't like it. You will NOT be disappointed! Don't believe me? Listen to the sound clips, they speak for themselves!!

Dayroom is the best band I've ever heard in my 21 years on this planet we lovingly refer to as Earth. I am very picky when it comes to music, but every song Dayroom has on their albums are incredible. Never thought I would see the day that a perfect band would come about. That day has arrived. I highly recommend Dayroom for anyone. I also am wondering why they haven't been signed yet. Keep up the great work guys!!
