The Daysleepers return with their second EP/Mini-Album since their highly acclaimed 2005 release "Hide Your Eyes". This time the Daysleepers manage to improve upon their shoegaze/dreampop sound, while adding post-punk and new wave elements into the mix. Track 4 ("Stereo Honey") sounds like a cross between My Bloody Valentine and The Cure, while track 2 ("Moonfrost") sounds like Slowdive meets The Cocteau Twins. There is a lot of variety on this 6 track EP, from fuzzed out fast paced songs to slow ambient drifting melodies.
Don't miss out on this new edition to the shoegaze/dreampop genre, this is a highly limited pressing, so get it now before it's gone!
The Daysleepers Biography:
The Daysleepers are a band whose focus has always been on melody and etheriel sound. Formed in Buffalo, NY in November 2004, a group of musicians, who shared a common love for shoegaze and post-punk music, began an experiment that would expand the possibilities of dreamy beautiful music. Haunting vocals that disappear into thick hazy walls of guitars and synth warm pads, Powerful rolling drum and bass lines that mesmerize, and a wall of sound that makes it difficult at times to distinguish one instrument from another. The beauty is in how all the instruments blend into gorgeous mindbending soundscapes and textures. However, it is not so abstract that it losses the catchy pop element. The Daysleepers intend to further experiment with this sound to continue to create the ultimate dreampop music.

this is a one of the best cds i have listened to.i would rate this with spooky by lush or slouvaki by slowdive.moonfrost sounds like it was a slowdive throwaway.make no mistake about it daysleepers are one of the last links to a wonderful era in music.i for one will always miss shoegaze and very sadly remember the passing of chris accland(drummer of lush)to me that was the final call of this magical time.there is a strong sound of early cure on this as well.the daysleepers have a fan in me the rest of my life.thank you.

Dreamy shoegaze with a touch of goth
author: James Wilks
The Daysleepers have a very haunting and beautiful sound. I definitely hear similarities to The Cure, as other reviewers have said, but I also hear similarities to Smashing Pumpkins, and even some of the Deftones' more ethereal songs. This is some very good, melodic shoegaze, with some elements of goth. The songs are really catchy, and will stay in your head for days. And at 33 minutes long and seven tracks, it could very well be considered an album rather than an EP, so it's a very good value!

Another absolute amazing EP. After purchasing Hide Your Eyes, I was a huge fan of The Daysleepers. Once The Soft Attack Ep was released, I had to purchase it. After hearing it, I was not disappointed. If you loved Hide you eyes, than I highly recommend this Ep.
