Upon listening to our debut record, you may ask, how could this slick, polished, big league-sounding pop record just appear out of the blue? Questions abound.
Are The Day Traders merely the concoction of boy band impresario Lou Perlman? Did The Day Traders hire The Matrix to write and produce all their hooks? No, and no. But we didn't get to this point over night, and it hasn't been easy. We learned a lot from our experiences playing in a little known Connecticut-based band called The Dent. Perhaps you heard of us? No? I didn't think so.
Those familiar with The Dent's music will likely be surprised by The Day Traders. Gone are the retro-string sections and the melancholy rainy day ballads both of which defined our unique sound. In its place are fun, polished, passionate pop/rock songs, made to be heard blasting from car stereos on Top 40 and rock radio stations. Our producer Saul Zonana really helped us do what we've always just wanted to do: Pop Out! So that's where the story ends, and begins. Have a listen!

Street-smart pop / rock !
author: Laura T Lynch of Kweevak.com
The Day Traders are a pop/rock duo from the New York metro area. These two singer/songwriters have crafted an energetic, straightforward rock CD. It has a bit of retro and plenty of bounce. Mitchell Linker has a distinctive high ranging vocal style. Jeff Norberg is a skilled guitarist and harmonizing vocalist. Saul Zonana who produced this polished CD also played bass, some guitars and the Mini Moog. A few guest musicians also appear on this eleven-track collection to contribute keyboards and drums. 'Tonight I Wanna be Sad' is the strong starter and sets the mid-tempo pace for the rest of the CD. It has a snappy rhythm, spirited vocals melding with keyboards and guitars. 'Why' is a questioning reflective song with well thought-out lyrics and instrumentation. 'Worry About You' opens with an interesting exchange between a driving beat and funky sound effects from the Wurlitzer and Mini Moog. This chat meanders it way throughout, as Mitchell's vocals carry the story and the song. The Day Traders' first release is street-smart pop/rock with potential winning hits!
