DANIEL BINELLI

Daniel Binelli, internationally renowned composer and master of the bandoneon, performs extensively throughout the world. Since his successful 1998 tour of Japan with the National Symphony Orchestra of Argentina, he has been a sought after soloist in the Far East as well as in Europe and the Americas. In October 2001, he appeared with the Montreal Symphony Orchestra at Carnegie Hall under the baton of Charles Dutoit.
At the invitation of Maestro Dutoit, he appeared with the Australian Symphony Orchestra in September, 2003 in Sidney and with the Philadelphia Orchestra in February 2004. In 1989, Mr. Binelli toured Brazil, Chile, Germany, Spain, and France with Astor Piazzolla and his New Tango Sextet. Binelli's knowledge of Tango has earned him the most respected proponent of Piazzolla's musical legacy. He has recorded over 30 CDs with whom he worked for 14 years. Daniel Binelli is the Musical Director of Tango Metropolis as well as the Binelli Quintet.

Claudio Hoffmann is a choreographer, dancer and teacher of Tango and Argentine Folkloric dance.
Pilar Alvarez a classic and contemporary dancer, started her artistic career in the Teatro Colon of Buenos Aires.
As a soloist couple they are members of the "Tango Pasión" company and, together with the famous tango orchestra Sexteto Mayor, they gave performances in the Kolner Philharmonie (Cologne), Deutschen Opera (Berlin), Conference Hall of Kremlin (Moscow), Théatre des Champs Elysées (Paris), Amphitheatre of the Acropolis (Athens), Le Stadium de MonteCarlo, The Concert Hall of Taiwan, etc. and created original choreographies for that production.

They are also founders of the company "Tango Express" presenting its show on several occasions, including at the Black Box Theatre in the Gasteig (Munich) and at the L'Octogone (Pully, Switzerland), together with Philippe Lizon (from Maurice Béjart's Company), and they have received the Prize:"Viva 2000"-Best Choreographie, in Israel.

With the participation of Daniel Binelli they staged their show "Tango Metropolis" during the International Festival "Buenos Aires Tango '98", where a magazine defined it as "an excellent company" and "the most interesting entry in this festival".

With Tango Metropolis they also performed at Teatro Teresa Carreño (Caracas, 1999), Stadt Theater Basel (Switzerland) 2001,The Third Shanghai International Arts festival (China, 2001) and toured around Japan on July 2002.
