Album Notes

The Bougalie Strut is a fun dixieland tune. Walk My Way is a romantic Big Band vocal in the style of the Andrew Sisters. Too Cute is snappy and swinging modern tune. Mendo Twilight evokes early jazz arrangement - like Ellington. Monkey Hill (a very small hill in New Orleans Audubon Park) is a swinging modern jazz tune. The Lost Jobim Tune is a Jobim influenced bossa nova tune. Acid Swing is for swing dancing. No Roof Blues - Post Katrina blues in a dixieland, slow drag, burlesque style. Midnight Oil is swinging Modern Jazz. Mendocino Second Line - Fun and funky New Orleans marching and party music.
Bonus track - Memory of Kyoto - Inspired by our trip to Japan in 1982.
David Brown - guitar, bass, keys, mandolin, banjo, shamisen - Jack Braet - clarinet, saxophones, flute - Barbara Brown - drums, vocal and Dan Albrecht - drums on "Too Cute".
