Hypnotic Splendour Of a Genius in the Making
author: Don Corinthian El Pathadinos
A Dear Family Friend, Guiardo Migittarre, Passed me David Buckingham's 'The View'. A gift for hosting a regional gala and dance. "Prepare to Listen my friend, for only when you listen well, will you truly hear" He said. So I Locked myself in my Library and listened. Now, to you my friends, I say listen well.
A more treasured or valuable offering I cannot remember. Sumptuous soundscapes constantly pour from Davids fingers and throughout the guitar, The production quality left me with a sense that I had just had a live performance on my veranda. Often unheralded, I would argue whomever assisted David will be equally in demand following this release. Difficult to explain, you can hear and almost feel the notes being played yet there are no obtrusive fret rattles or interference which can often blemish even the most experienced Guitarists works. Inside my mind I worried for the approach of the cover works, not wanting the sonorous excellence and integrity of the originals to be broken but mistaken I most certainly was, to entertain fear for anything David has produced on this album.
It would be an insult to select certain areas of this album to highlight, I find it almost a guilty pleasure to listen to in it's entirity, I have tried to play it in the background whilst going through papers or entertaining, only to find myself seduced and taken away once more. The pieces have been put together so exquisitely they flow almost seamlessly into one another with only one intention, to delight the senses.
To my friend, I thank you. To all others I can only urge you to seek out 'The view' and hope you enjoy it as much as I do. To David Buckingham himself I say thank you, and please retain the care and ear for excellence that you have displayed on your most accomplished and splendid debut.
For me... to the library.

Fantastic CD!!
author: Pietro by Radio-Vinilemania
SUBERBA (AWESOME)!!!!
CD apprezzatissimo e richiestissimo anche in Italia!!!
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!!!!!
Ciao ciao Pietro

Exquisite playing, brilliant recording, broad appeal
author: John Puddick
David Buckingham plays the guitar exquisitely. The balance between melody and accompaniment is superb, and when he brings out the bass line the tone is sonorous and unforced. This is enhanced by brilliant recording. The fret noise is reduced to a minimum [why don't guitarists in general hear fret noise? Is it only me who thinks it spoils many guitar performances?] and the ambience is just perfect for this wonderful playing. The music has broad appeal; a fusion of cool jazz, flamenco and English composition. David Buckingham is certainly a rising star of the guitar world and I am sure this CD is the first of many to come.

Standout debut from a future master of the genre
author: Adriano Juan Martin
David Buckingham delivers a beautiful collection of original and re-worked material on his debut album ‘The View’.
Easing you in gently, ‘waterscape’ gives you a sip from a guitar players cup that simply overflows with style and passion. The album saunters between lazy summer days and steamy latin nights, Taking you on a journey so real you can taste the sangria. David displays a style and passion within his works that clearly show the benefits of years of dedication and live performing.
‘The view’ washes over you like a refreshing tonic, bringing fresh life to a well explored genre and shining light on an exciting path forward.
Imaginatively crafted, David has clearly spent a lot of time selecting the cover tunes on this album, instantly recognisable yet completely altered from their original form, each ideally placed to refresh your listening pleasure. Not to put too fine a point on it, at times Buckinhghams fingerwork is explosive and also mind boggling. David plays with a style and passion that suits every track down to the ground.
Overall I would have to say ‘The View’ delivers everything I’d hoped and more. A Display of skill and of an honest love of a genre which delivers elegantly and precisely what this reviewer would expect from a veteran of the scene, let alone a dubutant.
The only trouble I can see for David Buckingham going forward are being able to meet expectations following this standout triumph.
Blessed with a miraculous gift and ability, truly, Highborn.
