D.C.BARLOW AUTOBIOGRAPHY/CD NOTES/CD DESCRIPTION
I (Dewey Clifford Barlow) grew up on a wheat farm near Perryton, Texas. Perryton (7,500 approximate population) is a community located in the extreme Northeastern Texas Panhandle. My mother (Justine) died in 1960 when I was eleven. My father (Leonard) took on the task of raising six children following mother's death. Dad, a musician himself, encouraged each of his six children to pursue music. I chose the alto saxophone in 1959 at age ten. In 1960, when I was eleven, Dad bought me a brand new Mark VI Selmer Paris alto saxophone which I still play today.
My music career has had many positives including: Outstanding Bandsman-Perryton High School Band; 1st chair alto saxophone in the Texas High School All-State Band; Outstanding Bandsman-West Texas State University Buffalo Band; Graduate Assistant-School of Music (W.TX.St.Univ.-Canyon,TX); Bachelor of Music Education Degree-(W.TX.St.Univ); Master of Arts in Music Degree (Performance Degree-Classical Saxophone) (W.TX.St.Univ)
"D.C. Barlow-alto saxophone" is an alto saxophone instrumental CD which includes various types of music.... fiddle tunes, western swing, country, western, big band, jazz, blues, rock, polka, waltz, etc. The CD is actually a collection of 20 songs I enjoy performing on my alto saxophone!
I am especially delighted to have in my rhythm section for this CD my two brothers. Keith Barlow is on one of Leonard's flat top guitars (Gibson J-200). Lee Barlow plays the Fender Precision Bass (1950's vintage) given to him by his father.

I found this CD while searching for "Grady Martin and the Slew Foot Five." It compares very favourably, great C & W Swing and great alto sax. It's also good to be able to sample the songs. Wouldn't mind a follow-up of different songs!
