Songs from Stone Mountain
In his second independent full length release, singer/songwriter 22 year old Dave Daniels relocates to Georgia and enlists some of Atlanta's finest musicians and formed New Pony, a unique ensemble of driving blues, rock, country, pop, folk and jazz. Daniels gets a big boost on "Songs from Stone Mountain" by teaming up with nationalally reknown steel pedal guitarist Mark Van Allen (Sugarland, Oakridge Boys, Blueground Undergrass) as producer.
Recorded in two months at Van Allen's Music Farm Studios in Loganville, GA, the album is a wild blend of guitars, cello, fiddle, harmonica, keyboards, steel guitar and Daniels unique sense of combining Americana music with a progressive feel.
Other musicians on the album include bass prodigy Rob Henson (Telegraph), fiddle player Jeff Spriko (South 70), and drummer Puma Navarro (Wighat), providing an eclectic mix of mellow and hard rocking tracks. The band is currently planning a spring tour of the southeast U.S. for 2007.
"Thanks to musicians like Dave Daniels, the tradition of the wandering troubadour lives on." Kati Schardl, Tallahassee Democrat.

Hmmm....

Not the greatest I've heard. But the greatest I've heard day. Being that this is the first cd I put on this morning, there was nothing else for me to compare it to. However, I would suggest not listening to any Beatles or Led Zep within 24 hours of hearing this cd because then it won't have the dramatic effect the bands want it to have. And that's a compliment. My regards to the chef.

Got both CDs from CD BABY! Liked the first one, love the new one. More drums, lots of strings. More of a rock album then your last one. Keep 'em coming! When is your next shows?
