Screams are a good thing
author: Ryan VanOrsdel
This is a great EP. There is enough variation to be exciting from song to song and there is enough coherency to have a band identity. The singers performance is very passionate and there are some detectable traces of old school hard core(awesome). It's fresh and acomplishes the goal of being good rock that is not just another overproduced blip on American radio.

These Australian natives have crafted a good five song EP of punk/rock songs
author: Bobby Gorman
These Australian natives have crafted a good five song EP of punk/rock songs with a slight tinge of emo. The vocals remind me of Adam from Taking Back Sunday at times; they sound completely different, but the way they are delivered are quite similar. Musically, they are no way similar to Taking Back Sunday. They have a type of rock-oriented sound. Heavy guitars and bass lines driven together backed up my solid drums. The chorus are catchy and grab you; and quite often refuse to leave your memory.
Leaning more on the rock side, The Dead Republic has a nice self-titled EP here. Like I said, I've listened to this for over 3 hours straight now and still can listen to it some more. The only downside is that some of their songs seem to sound similar to one another; but I'd still be interested to see what they can come up with on their full length.

the name might not be all that familiar, however it's a name to remember

A Relatively new act are Sydney's The Dead Republic, so the name might not be all that familiar, however it's a name to remember. They cover a range of styles but you could best slot them in the powerful dynamic rock/punk bracket. One listen through and it's pretty clear that these guys have put in quite a bit of work on this release, the tracks are well written, well recorded and well produced. There's 5 all up on this EP that kicks off with 'Blood' my favourite on offer. It's a hard sound to describe and doesn't particularly sound like anyone else enough to deliver a comparing point, something you'll just have to listen to it yourself for. The focus track is up next 'No Way Political' and again a very unique sound, you could put this as bordering on the nu-metal sound, but since it is no way as dodgy it'd be an insult to slot it there. This one slightly reminds me of Full Scale just not as heavy and more melodic. 'Days Gone By' takes them a bit more into the heavier side of things while 'Ashes' takes it back to the sounds of 'Blood'. A Great debut from a name to look out for.
Highlights : Blood, Ashes, No Way Political

Exactly what I'm looking for!
author: Gerard Tremblett
I love bands like this!!! neo-political and anti-government... it's the kind of band we need here in Newfoundland. The Bands lyrics grasp the mind and the beats are mind controling (s to say). Can't stop listening to it! Good Job guys!
