Lisa Manning and Derek Deakins are a "couple" of fiddlers that met in Nashville, Tennessee. They attended Belmont University and received degrees in music. The couple met at Belmont during auditions for the Bluegrass Ensemble. Both Lisa and Derek made the ensemble and played twin fiddles with the group.
Both of the fiddlers began in the Suzuki violin program at an early age and later on in their careers, found a love for bluegrass, country, celtic, contest style, and old-time styles of playing.
Lisa and Derek both worked as professional musicians in Nashville and have since gotten married and moved to South Carolina where they both enjoy teaching music.
Derek played fiddle with the legendary Osborne Brothers and country star Blake Shelton. Lisa was fiddler for country singer Pam Tillis and Grand Ole Opry legend, "Whisperin' Bill Anderson."

This is such a great collection of music. I can put this cd in my stereo and just let it play over and over. A pleasure to listen to. It is refreshing to hear the original songs on this album along with the traditional favorites.
