Album Notes
Grammy winning producer, and leader of Dog on Fleas gives us his 3rd solo CD. Quite different from his moody and mellow first CD, "Napper's Delight", and the raucous 2nd CD, "Rock Paper Scissors", recorded with the unique and rowdy Felice Brothers. "When the World Was New" is mostly just Dean in his straw bale studio meditating on the human situation. It's a little funky and filled with old analog synthesisers, drums and horns. Dean enlists some great singers; Shamsi Ruhe, Eli McNamara, and Marianne Tasick to compliment his vocals. Songs muse on the beginning of human life, our evolution and the absurdity of it all. Check out the powerful anthem, "Stand With Me".
