DeAnna started singing at a young age, after her guitar teacher realized she had a great voice. “When I turned 15,” she says, “I started singing in bars and from then on I never had a weekend off until I got married.”

The next thing she knew, her manager Jack McFadden, had gotten her signed to Warner Bros. and she was on tour, opening for Billy Ray Cyrus.

While on Warner Bros., she released two singles, “Texas Sidestep” and “Never Gonna Be Your Fool Again,” but DeAnna decided that her family was more important than her career and she tried to retire. However, it didn’t seem to stick. “Singing is my calling,” she says, “and I missed it.” Once her son was old enough to not need her as much, she decided to reenter the world of music.

DeAnna signed with Rustic Records, Inc. in January 2008, and her first single, “I’m a Long Gone Mama,” released to radio in March. Her big voice gives new life to this popular staple in the traditional country music repertoire. DeAnna’s songwriting has also matured, and she wrote “Any Fool but Me” which was recently recorded by fellow Rustic artist, Nikki Britt. Keep on eye on this girl, because you never know what she might do next.
