Album Notes

This Old House contains original arrangements of traditional faith music, but it also covers a broader scope of music to include Dean's traditional, folk, rock and gospel influences. This CD includes acoustic ballads, folk rock songs and gospel celebrations.

Covers of Mike Reid's "Love Without Mercy" and Pete Siebel's "Louise" are two standout vocal performances on this disc. Dean also introduces new arrangements of the folk and gospel hymns "Love Divine" and "Farther Along".

This Old House includes two tracks from from Dean's former band mates. The title track was written by John Switzer, a member of Barr None with Dean in the mid-1980s. "Hold on to Your Faith" is the composition of Jeff Shimizu. Jeff and Dean played together in the Christian rock band Soulfire from 2003-2005.

First of all let express my kudos on your most recent work "This Old House" which recently arrived on my desk for review. After previewing your work, I have found several cuts to be appropriate for "Air Play" on this station during our Sunday morning programming of gospel music. I have found this work to be refreshing, uplifting and uncluttered, and it features a pure approach to the music with production values that rival the very best in the industry.
