Album Notes

NY/NJ based David Easton & The J Krew draw on diverse influences to create catchy, accessible pop/rock music. Here's what people are saying:

"There's something pure about David Easton. He seems to have a direct connection to his soul when he sings and plays. His talent as a vocalist and keyboardist as well as the light inside him are undeniable."
-- Lorraine Ferro, singer and voice teacher affiliated with National Academy of Popular music and Songwriter's Hall of Fame

"David Easton is one of the most talented artists I've heard in NYC. He has a distinctive wide ranging classic rock voice, is a uniquely gifted keyboardist and a very talented songwriter...all in one impressive package. I certainly consider David to be on the verge of major breakthrough as an artist. Watch for him."

--Ken Cedar, NYC Music Producer

"David Easton is a man on fire. His music lights up a room and he knows how to get a crowd excited. All our clients rave about him and his talent."

-- Linda Joyce, Director of Celestial Events

"Good songs form the core of "You Got What You Wanted," but the skills of the players allow the band to slide into any area they choose. These are soulmen who can take it as far out as they want. Check 'em out, you'll be hearing more from these guys."

--John Ziegler (PD @ KUMD-FM Duluth, MN)

"Masterful and well worth listening to."

Tony Bates (Highlands 100.7FM, Australia)

Now a bit about the J-Krew :

My man James Reeno on the drums
flips the sticks with his fingers and thumbs
when he breaks a beat those skins hum
and the sound comes
like lightning and thunder makes you wonder
how he got so good with those pieces of wood
but right now you should give it up for : James Reeno

Here's the skinny an a guy named Jimmy
he's the funkiest white boy from here New Guinea
got a groove that'll make you move
got nothin to proove
one set of his bass bumpin thumpin somethin smooth
you feel better than when you walked in the door
get on the floor and he'll give you more...
Jimmy Sullivan

Now J. Armen on guitar
rocks out harder than most by far
solos screamin' and soarin' you can't ignore him
he's got those strings doing things like they got wings
He's sexy, he's charmin'...he's J. Armen

This band is hot and full of energy, with music that combines the best of pop/rock and jazzy/funky sensibilities that make for a highly listenable, yet not run-of-the-mill experience.

A Great Album!!!
author: DocEd
It was refreshing to listen to a great rock album. The music had a classic-rock feel but with a touch of jazz. All of the songs were well written. I would gladly recommend this album to my friends!

Finally an Album where EVERY SONG is GREAT!!! Just like it was 20-30 years ago!
author: SassyLou
I heard this CD because a friend had it. Every song has it's own melody. Each instrument is heard in it's most clearest state and form. This production is NOT "OVER COMPRESSED" to create false loudness to compensate for poor production...Each song "does not sound like the other" which is opposite of most "Sesame Street" produced "generic-contrived" quickly "spewed" out music of today. These guys have more going on (and some more) with saxophone and backup singers.. than most "generic sampler" bands could only dream of acquiring. I was wondering who are the JKrew? Do they have names?

David You've Done I!
author: Mano Reza
I have known and followed this artist for a while. I have wondered how David would ever be able to capture his multiple styles on a single album. From Jazz to Classical, Rock, Funk and Pop, David has them all together on this cd and they blend very well. "Around the world" is a standout for me. The cd also benefits from James Reeno's drumming and mastering skills (Spazzoid Studios). Great job! YOU DID IT!
