Album Notes

Deathgrip was formed in the fall of 2000. Jeremy(vocals), Steve(guitar), and John(drums) just happened to meet at a video shoot for a then up and coming band Nok, from the Boston area. Nok was Jeremy's previous band. The meeting spawned ideas, influences, and the exchange of phone numbers. The interest to play and write with one another sparked instantly. Darren(bass), joined in 2002. Finally after going through two previous bass players, we found the person to fill the spot and then some. Darren Royer is considered one of the most solid of bass players in the area. Rob(guitar) joined at the end of 2002. Rob adds a hardcore edge, the opposite of the bluesy, swamp sound that Steve adds.

With the combination of these five musicians you get a sound described as heavy stomp-n-groove.

Jeremy Jenkins: His vocalsare from the darkest depths of the mind/ His melodic, dark, flowing style carves the songs into your mind.

Steve Sutton: His guitar playing swirls around the music with his muc, swamp bluesy playing, which grabs the riff by the neck.

Darren Royer: His style drives the sound into a steady solid beat. His constant strike on the strings drives the tune into your skull.

Rob Fitton: His huitar playing adds a dimension of crunch and chug to the music. His high-end effects and steady attack of the riff speaks for itself.

John White: He adds a rhythmic tribal feel to the music. The pounding of his drums and the steady attack on the tune makes you realize where the grip has taken you.
