Album Notes

My fourth surf album. And finally, one that's well produced.

For the first time, Deathpod features more than just me (Phil) playing every instrument. Andrew Harwood played some great sax, and Dragan Rusic layed down some amazing Hammond organ. I even managed to snag my bandmates Roger Marin (pedal steel) and Matt Keighan (drums). I almost killed poor Matt, making him play the souped-up "Barn Burner."

It took almost a year of recording, mixing, re-mixing, and dragging a Leslie cabinet and a monstrously heavy Hammond L-100 down some narrow steps, but I'd gladly do it again in a heartbeat, and probably will again very soon.
