July 6th, 2004 (Hollywood, Calif.) - Rock/soul diva Debby Holiday has released her third independent LP Half A Mile Away (*Nebula 9). Containing 12 tracks featuring a mix of rock, soul and pop, this LP also contains the original version of Dive, Holiday's song currently shooting up the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play charts. Dive (*Nebula 9) was released in advance of Half A Mile Away as a dance maxi-single with remixes by Chris Cox (Thunderpuss), Scotty K (The Ellen Degeneres Show) and Solar City.
Half A Mile Away contains songs produced by Debby Holiday, Bryan Corbett, Clif Magness and Jeff Fedak. It is executive produced by Debby Holiday & Bryan Corbett for *Nebula 9. Half A Mile Away is being released by Holiday's imprint *Nebula 9 in retail and online at www.PerfectBeat.com (Perfect Beat, 8941 Santa Monica Blvd., West Hollywood, CA, 90069), www.Amazon.com, www.CDBaby.com and other retail outlets.
Audio clips of Half A Mile Away are available online at Debby Holiday's website at www.debbyholiday.com.
Debby Holiday experienced every aspect of the music industry early on. Her father Jimmy Holiday was a passionate and soulful artist, topping the charts with several of his own singles before going on to co-write hits such as Understanding by Ray Charles and Jackie DeShannon's Put A Little Love In Your Heart. Another standard All I Ever Need Is You, turned out to not only be a top 10 single for Sonny and Cher - but also went on to be a huge country hit for Kenny Rogers and Dottie West. Naturally, this eclectic mix of music strongly influenced Debby's own unique and compelling sound.
Debby Holiday has worked with a wide range of today's top songwriters including Jeffrey Steele, Al Anderson, Marty Fredrickson, Billy Steinberg, Erik Bazillian and Clif Magness (Avril Lavigne). In 2003 Debby won over audiences in the juicy role of The Blues Singer in the L.A. production of the award-winning play, The Trials and Tribulations of a Trailer Trash Housewife, written by Del Shores. Debby is now focused on the release of her new maxi-single Dive and this latest LP Half A Mile Away, with a street date of July 6th, 2004 on *Nebula 9.

Great album in classic singer/songwriter style
author: GeoffI first became aware of Debby through her dance remixes (which are fantastic - check them out) but luckily the store I bought them in also stocked this album and it was such a great purchase. Classic pop/rock/soul sound that is just all too rare these days. I'm actually reminded a lot of Amanda Marshall's first album, which is a good thing - another 'undiscovered' gem. Hope to hear much more from Debby in the future.
