Album Notes

DEB CHAMBERLIN released her sophomore cd on ESAH Music... I AM SHE ... in December 2006... A powerful work of songs...calling us to feel and embrace the frailty, beauty and power of the Human Condition...at a time when each of us must face who we are at our core - as individuals, as societies, as a world... Songs like "Soul Missing" .... "My Own Armageddon" ... "She" ... a powerful cover of Stevie Wonder's "Higher Ground" ... & more...

From Music Theatre Major in college, to 2 years as an aerialist/showgirl with Ringling Brothers Circus, to teen mentor and Cultural Arts Program Founder/Director, Deb's background is as eclectic as her music. As a vocalist, she has done the rounds of lead and back-up singing, in original and cover bands in both New York City and the Philadelphia area. As a session and jingle singer, her voice is heard on TV and Radio throughout the Northeast Region.

As one of NYC and Philly's premier vocal coaches, she has trained hundreds of singers, from beginners to major label recording artists (including Carole King, Tom Keifer of Cinderella, Eric Bazilian, Mike 'Slo-Mo' Brenner, & more).

This is one exciting CD. Deb has out done herself with her writing and vocalizing. This is truly a stand out CD. Her unique vocal expression is heartfelt! Deb really owns these tunes. She paints pictures and captures your imagination. This music spe aks volumes. I love the mixes and the clarity of the recordings. The production is as creative as the songs themselves. .

I can't go into every song individually, because there won't be enough room, so here is my general over view. There is so much to listen to, because the lyrics and their messages are powerfully married to music that packs a double punch by being both beautiful, and perfectly produced. The production reminds me of Glen Ballard's work on Alanis Morrissette's freshman performance, like a dance with the vocals, sort of a call and respond with amazing organic synchronicity. The first tune grabbed me, and I was hooked. I find myself walking around during the day singing the choruses and I'm a song writer myself.I love the melodies and the chord changes are so interesting. It's pop, but these two writers didn't sell out. The songs are sophisticated while being memorable, a true sign of good writing. The vocals are beautiful, and I can hear them clearly, thanks to the fantastic mixing job. Deb is an incredible singer. Her control and phrasing is outstanding, really impeccable, and the quality and tone of her voice gives me chills. I've been a fan for awhile, and loved the first cd. This sophomore followup is something they should be really proud of, and will hopefully catch the attention of one of the smarter music people who can take them to the next level, where they belong.
