Album Notes

Deborah Abrams is a sensual and confident Jazz singer, whose voice enters your ears and targets your soul. She can belt out a tune halfway to the moon, or whisper so low you nearly fall off your chair to catch every heavenly note. On her debut release, COLD WIND, she takes her audience by storm and stands out as a Jazz and Blues dynamo. COLD WIND teams Deborah with collaborating songwriter Wolfgang Grasekamp who, together, found success on this album. Thanks to the overall enthusiasm and compliments from fans, they are busily working on new material and planning her second release WARM BREEZE. The trend continues with an eclectic set of energetic performances, featuring a wide range of material and styles, from fresh interpretations of timeless standards to the cutting edge originality of new tracks like 'Cold Wind' and 'Uptown Tonight' both cowritten by Deborah and Wolfgang.

Be sure to catch Deborah Abrams' live, and experience one of San Diego's premier song stylists. She also appears as a guest artist with several well-known bands around town, including venues in the Gaslamp quarter, downtown. But for now, find a comfortable place to enjoy Deborah's gentle melodies and dynamic, swinging energy as she serenades your ears and touches your heart. Her heartfelt thanks to all her friends, fans and musicians for their kindness and support that help to fuel her creative energy.

\"I enjoyed your \"take\" on all the old standards that I\'ve known for forever, and that have been \"covered\" SO many times by SO many artists; but you manage to do something... the word I think of is \"fresh\"... Your stylization is unique, while being free and easy... and it isn\'t easy to do make those oldies sound \"new\", but, again, you really have a unique \"way\" about your presentation that is most enjoyable. Your love of what your doing really comes through, too. \"

\" Deborah shares a part of herself and she has fun with it. There is an energy between her and the audience. She is doing what she loves and has a sense of purpose about it. My Mom and I have enjoyed watching you live and listening to your CD all the time. I think you are very talented and you bring joy to my heart. Keep at it. You are already a success in my book and the best is yet to come.\" Bill Lee San Diego, CA

No One Like Her

\" Deborah is a hot number when it comes to moving you with her soft, sexy voice. What a talent! I first heard her perform on the Carnival Cruise Line Elation. I asked her to sing at my on-board birthday party and much to my surprise, she accepted. What a treat! She gave me her first CD, Cold Wind, which I play on my Power PC as I write. I\'ve been a following fan of hers ever since. When she came to Santa Monica, I caught her performance at the Bob Burns Piano Bar. Boy, was that a night! If you ever get an opportunity to see her perform, you\'ll become a fast fan, too. I can\'t wait for her next CD. There\'s no one like her when it comes to singing torch songs. No one can touch her sound or style. \" Deborah Johnson, Venice, California

In Puerto Rico many of our friends have listened to her music and love it. She is very lucky to have the talent that allows her to do what she loves. Her style is pretty unique. Her ability to express her feelings in a warm intimate style makes the listener enjoy and identify with the song. We and some Puerto Rican fans would love to hear some Latin songs in her next CD.
