Sultry. Fluid. Powerful. Songstress Debòrah Bond (pronounced "De-BOR-ah") breathes life into music, with songs that enrapture and draw listeners into her universe. With velvety vocals that drip with wisdom beyond her 26 years, Debòrah blends elements of her idols Sade, Chaka Khan, and Anita Baker into her own signature style.

Mystical
author: JazzMusiqThis young lady truly has an ole' soul, her voice resonates the lyrics and soothes one's soul. She is defeintely gifted and should continue to bless the world with her superb vocals. It was in constant rotation until the Cd was stolen from me, and I am deeply hurt that I can't find it now. Luckily, it is downloaded to my computer at work, but I really need the Cd back.....I am an avid music lover and have to have the original. I am keeping my fingers crossed that Cd Baby gets it back in stock and soon. Be Blessed in all your Endeavors! A Fan Forever!
Awestruck
author: JaniceWell...It's 4 years later(12/2007). I picked this CD up about a year and a half ago (give or take), and I'm completely mesmorized and continue to be. This CD remains in my top 10 oof all time (and I'm no spring chicken). I can't begin to explain how deeply this CD moves me. It's urgent and it moves through my soul like a lost love. I can't begin to express my appreciation and admiration for Ms. Bond. A true talent, a true prophet, a true woman.
AWESOME ....AND IM A HARSH CRITIC. HER PERFORMANCE LIVE IS EVEN BETTER.
the best music ever!!!

WOW!!!!!!
author: KraigI am too just blown away!!This is one of the best cd's I have EVER heard, period! Since having it I have tried to let everyone I know about it and to get online and order it.It took me about a year to get it(It's been out of stock,I see why!!), but MAN was it worth it!I love every note on every track and my favorite( If I have to choose one-?)-gotta be "Sweet Lullabies"!! If I have to compare her to a current artist it's gotta be Kem, because both artist have the perfect blend of R&B(neo-soul?) and Jazz(Smooth Jazz?)But Deborah takes the music a step further by having a "live" sound, like being at a concert!Ok, now add this cd to your cart and BUY IT!!!!!!
WOW!!

author: DarnGood of D en'D Productions, LLCExcellent Job Deborah!!! The cd is great!!! I find myself listening to it over and over again. Your stage show was incredible. We look forward to working with you in future. Our new CD "Diverse" is dropping in July 2005.
Invokes a rich legacy of soul sensuality
author: Tim'mI follow a lot of vocalists, but there have been few who've stayed in rotation as heavily as Deborah Bond, since i encountered her in the DC/Baltimore Soul landscape (2005). Perhaps the only thing that ironically works for her is a certain understated brillance and perfection she exudes in both spirit and performance. You know that Deborah feels the music and the experience behind the words-- they don't fall on the ears like empty superlatives with no feeling. rather, they pinch the gut, make you wanna believe in love again, change the world, take a risk, flirt with someone who wouldn't expect it, write a story, a book, another song. "see you in my dreams", "love's been waiting", and "this is me" almost exceed the sources of their inspiration: Chaka, Anita, Sade.... naw... it's Deborah from here out. the world deserves more of it.
in love with this, soul sis...
author: Sol EdlerThis album is a masterpiece that showcases a star. everything about this project is brilliant: the instrumentation, musical concpets, imagery, vocal deliveries and energy. i just keep on listenin to "Keep On", can relate to "Things will never be the same", am energized by "a Message", and cant resist "See you in my dreams". Do your thing Deb- can't wait to sing with you!

author: Eleonora Cutaia, Underground SoulWhat a revelation this album has been to me! Among all the new artists I’ve been listening to in the past couple of years, Deborah Bond is surely the one that impressed me most. Her debut album, entitled ‘Dayafter’ is a collection of incredibly uplifting songs... [read more on http://underground-soul.com/albums/albums10.htm#dayafter]

Don't Give Up Deborah
author: ScottIt's ok,she has a good band. Not bad 4 her 1st CD.
Brilliant music! I love it!
author: DJ Consortium"Dayafter" by Deborah Bond is nothing short of an instant classic. Would we expect any less from a chanteuse who lists Chaka, Sade, and Anita as her influences? Even then, she delivers with a powerful voice that establishes her own style. "Givin Up" is my kind of laid back, mellow groove. The vibe set by this track makes you wanna chill and leave your worries for tomorrow! Also, I'm feelin' "Don't Waste Your Time" where she cautions a friend on relationship issues. Words, sounds, and power are the direction Deborah takes with her music. On love issues, how about "Keep On" which boasts sensuality and passion as something to be cherished? Deborah Bond is backed by her band 3rd Logic. They have that deep, soulful sound the masses will adore and hold to heart.I place them in high regard like Fertile Ground, N'Dambi, Erykah Badu and others. In the years to come when we are too old to dream, we'll remember Deborah's beautiful sound and her timeless music will keep us young. DJ Come of Age
Creativity at it's best. This is what I call "real" music
author: Craigd56This CD should be in everyone's home. The music is heartfelt and the artist has a story to tell. This CD is on point and is easily one of the better CD's that I have ever bought off of CDBaby. If you like real music, get this CD.

author: DavidThe music is tantilizing and to the point. The only thing is they should have done a better job on the hidden track. It is a great song but too much blank space between.
I've definitely Bond with Deborah!!!!
author: Darryl WebbOnce again another soulful sista that got it!! The vocals are crazzy she definitely got that Jill Scott vibe, but is in a class of her own. Can't wait to hear more, sis.
Peanut Butter Smooth from Start to Finish
author: PabloThis CD is great. I had the pleasure of hearing her at Black Lily in Philly and had to cop it. She's got songs to match EVERY mood, from melancholy to cheerful. Her sound is mature with the right amount of funk, the backup music is on point as well. I STRONGLY suggest purchasing it.
WOOOOOOOOOOW!!!
author: BUMPINMUSICDeborah Bond! The last name says it all! An investment with a guarantee! Girl so bad, she probably has a brother name James. Not only am I blown away! I am sold!!! What you never knew you were missing!
author: Amber SiegesI cannot get enough of this CD! It is so full of soulful jazz music paired with chocolatey smooth vocals. This is one of the first CD's in a long time that really goes back to the roots of jazz music...honoring the past while mixing in the new. And to top it off, the lyrics of the songs really get to the heart of what emotion really is...simple but real. But what I love most is that you can hear the raw emotion in their voices...it's powerful. You'll love it!

author: Tito Toke' IrizarryGentle, sultry and dynamic vokals are physically combined with staggering beauty... r&b soul emanates from this petite smoothy. I had the pleasure of witnessing her talent at the 5 Spot in Philly (11/4).. and I was left breathless.. only to be resuscitated by her sound! Heart pounding, soulful and energetic... one of my best additions to the Black Lily video archives. I just bought it online!!!! Luv tha "Yin-Yang" Ma!

"...excellent, funky and grove-ridden."
author: Barry Towler - Soul ExpressTip-top! As far as I am concerned, "DayAfter" has really thrown the gauntlet down not only for me as a critic, but to the industry as a whole. (see full review at http://www.kolumbus.fi/soulexpr/reviews2.htm )
Lovely on all counts
author: DJ StylusDay After is well-crafted record that feels really good going down and spreads to warmth once it settles. The tunes fit Deborah's voice nicely, allowing what makes her style distinctive to stand out more. The arrangements are only equalled by the skill of the band executing them.
Real Music
author: AnduzeDeborah brings neo soul to the dinner table to sit with good ole fashion R&B. The band accents her style to perfection, highlighting that deep DC soul. Good things should happen for this group of talented individuals! You Go Bora!
A STAR IS BORN!! Excellent Debut Recording!
author: Ralf HenkeGreat mixture of groovy R&B and downtempo rhythms. Excellent musicians (3rd Logic) are backing up this very talented singer. Fantastic song material (and a bonus hidden track (Remix of "Love's Been Waiting)). Buy it - you'll love it! This release deserves at least 10 stars!! The world needs more music like this - please do it again Debórah!!
"High praise indeed."
author: www.soulwalking.co.uk"...the overall effect is excellent in some parts and quite magnificent in others! Check the opener 'See You In My Dreams'. One of the best songs I have heard all year. The closing tune, 'Things Will Never Be The Same' is a song Sade would die for. Really nice debut, boding well for the future for this new songstress and the band. Very nice and a very pleasant surprise." (see full review at http://www.soulwalking.co.uk/Listen%20Out%20For.html#DeborahBond )
"...a brilliant soul album that will instantly grab you..."
author: www.Jazz-Not-Jazz.de"Miss this music and lyrically deep album at your own peril." (see full review http://www.jazz-not-jazz.de/reviews/deborahbond.html )
Spiritually compelling, thick, colorful, free, sexy, timeless.
author: Naughty BennettThe butterflies escaped the pit of my being when I heard this cd. Her voice, her soul, and her music is very hyptnotic, contagious, and infectious. It goes through your ears, to your heart and within your soul. It will leave you feeling inspired. All I can say is DAYUM!!!!!!
Best unknown talent!
author: AntIn an era where radio is splattered with a bunch of nonsense, Deborah Bond is the perfect escape from instability that exists in the music industry. Right now, she is the best unknown talent in urban music. Hopefully Deborah doesn't tease us with just one album. Keep it coming!
So refreshing!
author: LouThis album really stirs your senses, your soul... A delight!
Talented and Timeless.....
author: nubian girlpoetDeborah truly blossoms on this album with music for every mood. Her voice, her vision, and her verse are a blessing, and the cd is a must have for any true neo-soul lover.
Raising the Bar, Effortlessly...
author: KolaiAs time goes by, DC blooms with new wonderful music. Consider Deborah Bond's new opus: DayAfter. Lyrically inspiring, emotionally charged, musically uplifting!!! This album is a beautiful voyage. I've got my picks for favorites now but it wasn't easy. Time for you to find yours...
The best neo-soul D.C. has to offer!
author: JonesShe is wonderful. Her voice. Her messages. Her spirit. Day After evokes the spirit of the great vocalists who preceded this soon-to-be a legend artist. A Message and Don't Waste Your Time are impeccable standouts on what is sure to be a D.C. classic. The instrumentation whether electronic or raw live, is stellar. The Brand New Heavies-esque This Is Me demands that you dance. The disc has it all without overdoing it. Ten tunes done very well. If D.C.'s female artists follow suit, the Capital may one day have its own Day.
Lovely Sounding
