notes

Some one once said.....

"Deborah writes with the quirkiness of Elvis Costello, exhibits melodic influences from Tom Waits to Suzanne Vega to The Police, and possesses showmanship that might be likened to Lily Tomlin and Spalding Gray.

Not to mention, she sings like butta".

Alrighy then....

The best thing about this music is that you can tell it's fresh and comes from a place where art lives.

The other great thing is that Deborah now spends most of her waking hours devoting herself to songs inspired by literature - to help connect people to great books through music.

She started a nonprofit for this called The SIBL Project.

CD BABY has sold nearly 1000 of these unique benefit CDs - do a search on this site to find out more.

And enjoy "Blessing Or A Curse".

  • Do you like the warmth and insight of Carly Simon?

Do you like early Joni Mitchell? Do you like the warmth and insight of Carly Simon? Do you like the irony of Michelle Shocked? Do you like the guitar work of Janis Ian? If yes to any of the the above buy this CD!--If you love all four above like myself--you are gonna flip out with this CD!

  • Buy this. Sit back. Listen. Now.

This music sounds like romance. You don't so much listen as fall into it. The arrangements get a lot of effect out of a moderate budget. The only trick missed is maybe a little more variation in the guitar work, but come on, not to quibble. This artist's voice is better than good, and the biggest treat among the others is the witty lyrics, which hook not with repetition but with observations fresh enough to grab your attention.

  • Good songs sang soulfully, great instrumental backup.
author: Robert Lee Johnson - The Guitar Man

Love the sound and feel of the music here. Great Vocals. And I love the backup Pedal Steel Guitar. A Really Great CD for your enjoyment.
