Debra Farris Band's "Gotcha Covered" CD is a studio jewel. It has something for everyone! Great Blues Standards, funky soul grooves, tasty originals, classic rock favorites, and more. This is a CD where you can sing along, and the arrangements are clean and mean! Perfect for roadtrips!
The CD originally emerged as a DFB demo to book more club and festival gigs, corporate parties and weddings. Debra wanted to give people a broad sample of the types and styles of music she and her band played. Gotcha Covered is just that. It’s gotcha covered over a wide spectrum of music. They play songs from The Beatles, Van Morrison, Sting, The Neville Brothers, Atlanta Rhythm Section, Duke Ellington, T-Bone Walker, Bill Withers and more. There are extraordinary new Debra Farris originals as well. It’s worth a listen! We see DFB up and coming in the Blues world and music scene!

Better than the originals
author: Monika Petroczy
These songs are - dare I say it - better than the originals. Debs versions of Use Me, Aint No Sunshine, Stormy Monday, Route 66,Spooky, Yellow Moon are addictively funky & good. Deb & her band are brilliant. There are some great blues, swing and vintage tunes here.I love it.

Popped it into the cd player while cruising along the interstate here in the midwest the other night. Good vibes and toe-tapping fun. Great job Debra K!

Fine collection of covers
author: Bluesbunny
This collection of songs from the Debra Farris Band, as the album title implies, predominately features cover versions. With a solid band to back her up Debra is able to go for broke on the delivery of the material that has been chosen, and the result is a particularly catchy set of music. As tends to be the case with cover versions some work better than others, and on occasions it just all seems to fall into place and they work spectacularly well. This is the case with her version of T-Bone Walker's "Stormy Monday"; this one really does hit the mark and she gives us a superb, slow bluesy performance of a genuinely classic song. With "Route 66" we are treated to a swinging jazz style interpretation of the song, and Van Morrison's "Moondance" is given a similar, and strangely pleasing, treatment. On Bill Withers' "Use Me" she demonstrates a somewhat funkier side with another standout performance. She also features a couple of her own compositions, with the blues tinted "Exponential" and the slightly funky sounding "Get Up". She even pulls off a great rocking version of Lennon & McCartney's "I Saw Her Standing There" to finish.
