Debut CD from Portland area based producer Deceptikon. Jazzy sample based hip hop beats with heavy emphasis on melody. No rhymes on here, but the bobbing of heads shouldn't be strange to listeners of this cd, musically falling somewhere between Machinedrum and the recent merck hiphop discovery, Aphilas. Containing well known breaks combined with pads and horns, plus a touch of west coast style. Composed of fifteen tracks made over the last several years, expect high quality hiphop from this elusive northwestern producer. In special edition poly-case with superb design and limited to 2000.

WOW

After hearing a couple of tracks on pandora and then hearing the live set I knew I had to have this disc. The only reason this disc has left my player is to go from the one in the car to the one in the house. This CD fits so many moods...cheery, dark, rambuncous, subdued. Just an awesome blend of downtempo, trippy hip hop bits, with a bit of glitch thrown in for good measure. Awesome awesome disc.

I just looove this kind of music. This cd is very relaxing, and the melodies are definitely sweet. I really like the 'light' atmosphere, it makes me want to smile :D

Slow, catchy and melodic -- late night paradise

I first heard about Deceptikon from our local university radio station here in Vancouver, www.citr.ca. Took me a while to track this CD down as I kept typing Decepticon and finding everything I wanted to know about transformers and nothing about music. :-)
The track I heard on the radio, The Last Four Things, really got my attention. Love the bass line and keyboards. I called the station right away and had to get more info.
I have since received the CD from CDBaby -- and am very pleased! Just what the doctor ordered. Some tracks better than others, but all very good. Throw it on late at night and groove away.
