Album Notes

Producer, Songwriter, Multi-instrumentalist. Playing Congas, Bongos, Timbales, misc. Percussion, Piano & Keyboards ... with a tiny bit of guitar.

Born and raised in the the Oakland/Berkeley area, he is yet another treasure to emerge from the area. Growing up listening to an eclectic mix of music from R&B/Funk to Jazz to African/Latin to Country. He considers himself a jazz musician. "My music is jazz influenced...the funk, hip hop, R&B etc... it's(jazz) in my blood. I always try to stir in some jazz and funky percussion into all my creations."

As a musician, he has performed at the San Francisco Jazz Festival, the Black Filmmaker's Awards, the Gavin Convention and shared the bill and stage with artists such as Hiroshima, Drummers William Kennedy & Richie Aguon, Guitar virtuoso Charlie Hunter, MoJazz artists Eddie M & Imprompt2, Mercury Recording Artists Phil Perry, Emáge, Toni, Tony, Toné, Con-funk-shun. He was a founding member of the Acid Jazz group "KnowJazz". While with KnowJazz , he co-produced their CD entitled "Take a Hit of This..." on StoneGroove Records, as well as their debut release "Unsigned and Ready to Deliver" which received rave reviews in HitMakers Magazine. He has worked with artists from both coasts including Emáge; Hip Hop artists Simply E from New Jersey and Mecca recording artist Boojaa from Oakland; Phenomenal Bay Area Funk Jazz Vocalist Omega; Singer/Songwriters Ann Prezno, Brely, Joye Vaughn, Luqman, Taura Stinson; Guitarist Stanley Davis; Soul/Jazz Group "TKO - The Knew Objective", He currently performs with several groups in the San Francisco Bay Area.

"the dc initiative" is the first solo effort by this accomplished songwriter/producer. Featured are vocalists Brely, Omega and Luqman also featured are Stanley Davis Guitar & Kenny Green on Drums & Timbales. This CD takes the listener on a "head bobbin'" journey.

This is really good work. The songs are a blend of latin brazilian soul funk r&b jazz...there is even a traditional afro cuban rumba! I highly recommend buying this CD. Support the Music!
