notes
Since the conception of DECONSTRUCT in late 2002, the band has been making a name for itself. After hearing advance tracks from "Sign Of Things To Come," David Draiman of multi-platinum act DISTURBED personally invited DECONSTRUCT to open a show on the Music As A Weapon 2 tour (Disturbed, Taproot, Chevelle, and Unloco) in front of 5000+ people.
"Sign Of Things To Come" is the debut EP from DECONSTRUCT. It brings you their heavy, dark and aggressive yet melodic vision which owes more to the classic hard rock vibe of Alice In Chains and Faith No More than most of today's nu-metal. Fans of Godsmack and Staind, fans of Machine Head and Pantera, and fans of Korn and Deftones will all find a common ground in the diverse heaviness that is DECONSTRUCT
Reviews of Sign Of Things To Come:
RoughEdge.com June 23, 2003:
Although I realize their importance to up-and-coming bands, sometimes I think demos are a just waste of time. A band plays a couple of tunes and you can say "Cool, crap or no big deal." Frankly, I don't think you can tell enough about any band from just three songs - except maybe whether or not you want to hear more. And I guess that's really the point.
That being said, sometimes a band comes along that impresses you so much with their demo that you simply can't wait to hear more. Deconstruct is just such a band.
Deconstruct is hard driving, heavy metal crafted into an engaging musical experience. Granted, it lasts only thirteen minutes, but all thirteen minutes were impressive.
Deconstruct has all the aspects of a very good metal band: attitude, better than average musical ability, good songwriting skills and - oh, yeah - attitude.
If the title of "Sign of Things to Come" is correct - and from what I hear it is - I expect very good things coming from Deconstruct.
Metal-Observer.com September 3, 2003:
2002 the well-known producer Joe Fraulob (guitars) and the former HEATHEN ("Victims Of Deception" 1991) and later DIE KRUPPS drummer Darren Minter gave birth to their new baby DECONSTRUCT. The band was completed by BEAT OFFICERS singer Skitz and bassist Venessa. The result has been this EP and DECONSTRUCT truly can have a big future before them.
The four tracks of "Sign Of Things To Come" not only have enough heaviness, but also a distinct hit character. But thankfully the four Americans are far away from a purely commercial direction and rock off. Nu-Metal with a good portion of Rock make DECONSTRUCT an interesting band and it should only be a matter of time until we will be graced with a complete album. As appetisers "I Am", "Deeper Down", "New Skin" and "Decay" are sufficient for the moment and can only spread positive vibes. Check out and feel good!

this cd rocks...do yourself a favor...buy it
author: cosikaThis cd is great, harsh and loud, but with enough rythm & melody to keep it from being noise...just wish there were more than 4 songs.
'Eavy, 'Orrible but Luvverly!
author: MileHighPeteThey're noisy, greasy and none too pretty (bass player excepted). They kick up a hell of a racket and I just can't get enough. 'I Am', particularly, is a meaty, rousing slice of pure metal, but all four songs rock like the blazes. Can't wait for the full-length CD (head over to their website for previews of two new songs). Love Deconstruct to death.
Heavy Stuff
author: Steven MayA small collection of some great songs. My personal favorite is DEEPER DOWN.Very dark, Very heavy, Very satisfying. Strong vocals backed up by heavy riffs, great drumming, and a hot bassist in more ways than one. If you're a fan of the HEAVY, do yourself a favor and buy this cd ,you'll love it. If this is a SIGN OF THINGS TO COME from DECONSTRUCT, I CANT WAIT TO HEAR MORE.
