DeDe Mac was born in a small farming community in Illinois. She had many musical experiences in school, but left her dreams of a career in country music behind as she married her high school sweetheart and settled down to raise a family, which grew to include three children. In 1986 she was accepted to appear as a contestant on the Nashville Network's "You Can Be a Star."
In 1994 she cut her first album entitled "Heavenly Country". She knew God had made it possible for her to finally fulfill her lifelong dream. She was given the opportunity to open for Kenny Chesney that same year. While in Nashville, she worked with Kitty Wells, Porter Wagoner, and Charlie Daniels.
DeDe's love for gospel is as great as her love for country. She loves to share the gift that God has given her, whether it is on stage singing country or in a church singing gospel. DeDe knows that through God, all things are possible, and with Him by her side, she can never fail.
