Album Notes

With the release of her new cd, "Goodbye Cinderella", word is fast getting out about this doe-eyed, dark-haired songstress. On the strength of her disarmingly smart and provocative songs and her easy, intimate performances, audiences have been enthralled and critics have been charmed.
Deena Rubinson's second EP, "A Couple of Miles", aired on LA's KLOS 95.5 before its release, and continues to play on KCLA 99.3, as well as a number of internet radio stations. Rubinson's first EP, "36 Hours", airs on WNLA 103.1 in the Mississippi Delta.
Her songs can be heard in numerous films and trailers, including the film "Perfect Opposites", starring Joe Pantoliano, Martin Henderson and Piper Perabo.
Siren Song Magazine says, "Deena Rubinson offers a respite from the pop divas currently filling the charts with their manufactured music. In contrast, Rubinson's lively personality shines through each note as she belts out songs composed in a quirky style reminiscent of Natalie Merchant. Her music embodies early '90s Lilith Fair with a bit of Motown thrown in for flair. And her songwriting skills fuse passion with poignancy."
All Access Magazine says, "Rubinson's strength [lies] in her storytelling. Able to conjure up touching scenes like the one in "Blinking", about a little girl who provides hope and strength to her battered mom...Rubinson has the capacity to move with her music."
