The Story of Deep Light Café
Singer/songwriter Jacqueline Clemons came to Los Angeles in September 2003 to connect with like-minded musicians and make great music. In August of 2004, Jacqueline answered an ad posted at Craigslist.org and met Producer/songwriter David Gunderloy, who was looking for a great singer for a project he was developing with ace Los Angeles session guitarist Tony Mandracchia. They got together at David’s Lionstar Studio, and began recording songs that would become the seeds of the Deep Light Café sound. Initially, their songs were extremely mellow, laid-back, sparse and lush (all in a good way!). They liked the beautiful tonalities and musical tapestries they were creating using classical guitars and orchestral strings, but at the same time, they felt strongly that they wanted to get some cool, sexy grooves up under the tunes. So, David took one of the songs they were working on called “Promise” and rearranged it with a semi-Latin /quasi-hip-hop drum beat and bass line ------- and the ice was broken! The band heard their own unique sound emerge once they infused their lush, elegant tracks with contemporary beats.
The band members began playing their new tracks for anyone who wished to listen; fans, friends, family, people on the street, people in clubs and restaurants. The response was immediate, positive and always went something like this, “I want the CD! Where can I get it?”
Well here it is!
Enjoy!!!

I LOVE this CD!
author: Terry Cafferty
I've heard Jacqueline Clemons sing before, recorded and in person. And I've always dug her voice and soulful interpretations. But what makes this CD stand out is the obvious feeling connections between the musicians; these people are all in LOVE, and that's what comes through. Cool, hip, free, happy, deep LOVE.
