Got this album when I heard of a comparison with Deep Rising and Alice In Chains. Whilst there can ever only be one AIC, Deep Rising are a great listen in their own right. Intelligent songs, great tunes, some top riffs, and a feeling of great energy in their performance.
I am reluctant to make any other comparisons between Deep Rising and any other band , as I feel that it would be doing DR an injustice, as their music is more than strong enough for them to be judged on their own merits, and not by who they may sound like.
I'm looking forward to their next cd, don't keep us waiting too long guys.
Anyone who wants to see and hear a bit more, should check out their slot on MySpace.

I am probably one of the first people in the United Kingdom to own this c.d. It is a classic blend of 70,s rock music with a modern contemporary twist. Short sharp songs with brilliant musicianship and excellent melodies. It is destined to be a classic.

Progressing Ahead!!!

Hi, friend's w/ this band, but thats not the only reason for
giving such a positive review; Shards exemplifies an album
w/ good song diversity and hooks that grab the listener
right from the onsett. Each member of the band brings their unique talent and influences to create songs that
vary yet also give a nice continuity without having to say
that "every song sounds alike". Having seen them live recently the chemistry of this foursome is starting to hit on all cylinders; therefore keep a close eye and ear on this band, Deep Rising will continue to shine even brighter!
