Album Notes

For over ten years, The Deep Roots Music Project in Portland, Oregon has helped young writers and local musicians collaborate to create and record original songs and music CDs. Teen writers pen the lyrics. Some of the very best musicians from Portland's storied music scene perform the songs.

To mark the 10-year anniversary, Deep Roots has released a "Music Project Anthology: 1998-2007" CD, a powerful collection of 12 great songs taken from annual Deep Roots albums. Not only is the music outstanding, but the cover booklet is filled with lyrics, artwork, photographs, and student testimonials from their decade long run.

The "Anthology" includes local Portland favorites Madgesdiq, Rubberneck, Luther Russell, Breanna Paletta, Mike Coykendall, Geoff Byrd, John Henry Bourke, Ezra Holbrook, Amelia, Sideproject, Andy Tabb, Dr. Theopolis, and more.
