After having received his musical education in Belgium and in the USA, Nicolas Deletaille has begun his professional life as a concert performer. In the same time, he has recorded musical works from the standard repertoire such as the Bach six cello solo suites, the Beethoven five sonatas for cello and piano, the Kodaly cello solo sonata and chamber music works by Schubert, Dvorak, Franck and Tchaikovsky as well as works written by today composers.
Nicolas Deletaille has also earned distinction as an arpeggione player by recording the Schubert arpeggione sonata in the rare original arpeggione version with the vienese maestro Paul Badura-Skoda on an original 1820 pianoforte.
Nicolas Deletaille has collaborated extensively with composers of our time. He has given approximately 50 world premiere creations, most of which were pieces written for him by composers from Belgium, France, Taiwan, USA, Italy, England, Switzerland, Korea, Norway and Canada. The last composition written for him is "Dépli et Configurations de l'Ombre" for solo arpeggione by Henri Pousseur.
Nicolas Deletaille is currently a faculty member of the Eastern Mediterranean University. He is cellist of the Mendelssohn Ensemble and plays as a duo with the French pianist Jean-Michel Dayez.

Issu de la Chapelle Musicale Reine Elisabeth de Belgique et de la Juilliard School à New York, Nicolas Deletaille se produit actuellement sur les scènes européennes, tant en qualité de soliste que de chambriste. Il est d'autre part professeur de violoncelle à l'Eastern Mediterranean University (RTCN).
Sa discographie comprend l'intégrale des six suites pour violoncelle seul de Bach et des cinq sonates pour violoncelle et piano de Beethoven, ainsi que diverses oeuvres majeures du répertoire pour violoncelle seul (Kodaly, Ysaÿe, Ligeti, Cassado) et de musique de chambre (Schubert, Dvorak, Franck, Tchaikovsky...).
Parallèlement à son activité de violoncelliste, Nicolas Deletaille s'est également fait connaître comme « arpeggioniste » en interprétant dans la version originale la célèbre « Sonate Arpeggione » de Schubert qu'il a par ailleurs enregistrée pour Fuga Libera en compagnie du maître viennois Paul Badura-Skoda.
Dans le domaine de la musique contemporaine, Nicolas Deletaille a donné plus de cinquante créations mondiales d'oeuvres écrites le plus souvent à son intention. Il a également suscité de nombreuses nouvelles oeuvres pour l'arpeggione.
Nicolas Deletaille est membre de l'Ensemble Mendelssohn et forme un duo avec le pianiste français Jean-Michel Dayez.

Nicolas DELETAILLE solo ve oda müziği repertuvarı çok geniş olan bir viyolonselcidir. Konser çalışmalarının yanı sıra Kuzey Kıbrıs Türk Cumhuriyeti Doğu Akdeniz Üniversitesinde öğretim görevlisi olarak çalışmaktadır. Bugüne kadar Bach’ın 6 Solo Viyolonsel Süitini, Beethoven’in 5 Sonatını, Schubert, Dvorak, Franck ve Tchaikovsky’nin eserlerini kayıt etmiştir.
Nicolas Deletaille viyolonsel çalmaya 1983’de henüz 4 yaşındayken başladı. Eğitimini Belçika (1993-2001) ve ABD’de (2001-2003) tamamladıktan sonra, 2003’de efsanevi ipekyolu ile ilgili bir kültürel proje kapsamında üç ay boyunca Türkiye ve İran’ı Quintus fiber karbon viyolonseliyle dolaşarak konserler verdi. 2004 yılından beridir Avrupa’da konserler vermekte ve kayıtlar yapmaktadır. Eylül 2006’da eşi ve iki çocuğuyla Gazimağusaya yerleşen Deletaille, Doğu Akdeniz Üniversitesinde Müzik Bölümü ve Müzik Öğretmenliği Programında viyolonsel dersleri vermektedir.
Viyolonsel sanatçısı olarak yaptığı çalışmaların yanı sıra Deletaille aynı zamanda bir ‘arpeggione’ sanatçısı olarak da büyük ün kazanmıştır. Bir taraftan bu ender rastlanan çalgı ile Schubert’in ünlü Arpeggione Sonatı’nı icra ederken (CD kaydını 2008’de Fuga Libera firmasıyla fortepiyanoda ünlü piyanist Paul Badura-Skoda ile yapmışlardır), diğer taraftan da bu özel çalgı için yeni eserlerin yazılmasına öncülük etmektedir.
Deletaille günümüz bestecileriyle yakın işbirliği içerisindedir. Bugüne kadar, Belçika, Fransa, Tayvan, ABD, İtalya, İngiltere, İsviçre, Kore, Norveç ve Kanadalı bestecilerin çoğunlukla kendisi için yazdığı 50 kadar eserin dünya prömiyerlerini gerçekleştirmiştir. Onun için yazılan en son eser solo arpeggione için Henri Pousseur’ün ‘Dépli et Configurations de l’Ombre’ adlı eseridir.
