ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Cosmically conceived from the stardust of Rhythm and Blues, this band of brothers, soulfully craft songs that illuminate and reflect upon a galaxy of sound, style, and emotion. Evocative and transcendent, these local heroes journey in a wave of musicality via culture, rock, and blues. Ascending from the real world roots of the East Los Angeles sound, the brothers authenticate a brand of music that is uniquely universal, and undeniably soul affirming. A testament to the Delgado Brothers songwriting and musicianship is “In Time” one of 12 new songs from their upcoming CD “Learn to Fly” and was featured in the “Best of Southland Blues” Volume1 released in May 2008. As any devoted Delgado Brothers fan will tell you, their CDs are “must haves” to any collection, and better yet on shuffle play poolside. But the effects of this bands gravitational pull are most visible when seeing them perform live. Dancers swirl, swing and gyrate to a Latino flavored back beat of percussion, courtesy of Victor Bisetti, and rock solid bass playing from big brother Bob Delgado. At the 2007 Long Beach Blues festival, Joey D’s emotive guitar solos received several standing ovations, while brother Steve’s moving vocals, lyrics and drumming always created an inclusive atmosphere of good will. Keyboard player David "B" Kelley on Hammond punctuates the bands good vibes with a playing style that has been described as “One of the best Hammond Players in So Cal.”. To note, Buddy Guy and the Delgado Brothers were the only two bands to be named, and positively reviewed in the Long Beach Press Telegram. Dynamically on point with a message of compassion and joy, this 5 man band is all presence and perseverance. Organic and intelligent, The Delgado Brothers band transfuse genres and shine a light on the best of a truly American art form, originality and strength of purpose. As if being talented musicians were not enough, the band regularly gives back to the East Los Angeles Boys & Girls Club (The brothers are alumni) by organizing a toy drive and instrument donations every Christmas, as well as donate time to “Write 4 Hope”, a music festival benefiting battered women and children.
