A little funky guitar, traditional acoustic instruments and a great voice.
author: Steve Hewitt
This cd opens with a little funky guitar, traditional folk instruments and a great voice. Kim's voice has become a great tool for communicating the beauty of her songs. Now you don't focus on who else she might sound like but rather what a great instrument her voice has become. Awsome!

Kris does it again!

This disc helped me retain my sanity. From the 1st track (which kicked my butt and got me writing, got me into the gym, got me up every morning) to the last. My favorite tho, is Little Wings. :)
She manages to key into real emotions and turn them into songs that are far from trite or overdone. The guest appearances from Jabe Beyer and Lori McKenna are great.
I love, I love, I love...

New "old" music - continuing a wonderful tradition
author: Jelena

Mumbly Magic....
author: Brendan Connelly
The powerful and hautingly beautiful voice of Kris Delmhorst socks out another amazing album. Delmhorst's trademark silky mumbling that her fans came to love with her debut CD, Appetite, is perfectly supplemented by Five Stories. If you loved Appetite, then rush to get Five Stories. All the songs on Five Stories are classic Delmhorst and will force you keep pushing the repeat button on your CD player while you try to decide which one you like better! With Five Stories, Delmhorst displays an amazing depth and range - both in terms of her musical styles and her soulful vocals which run the range from heartbreaking lovesongs like Damn Love Song, to the light and twangy Mean Old Wind. Delmhorst is a chameleon and makes me think the world has finally found a female equivalent to the master, Van Morrison.
